City Council Honors Inner Strength
City Council presents Amy Edelstein with resolution recognizing 10 years of service to youth

The Philadelphia City Council recognized Inner Strength Education and Founder Amy Edelstein for a decade of transformative work supporting the mental and emotional wellbeing of Philadelphia’s youth. Resolution 251033, titled “Honoring and recognizing Inner Strength Education during the celebration of its 10-Year Anniversary…”, was unanimously adopted by the full Council during the November 20th Council Session.

The citation acknowledges Inner Strength Education’s pioneering mindfulness-based, trauma-sensitive programs and highlights the organization’s evidence-based impact on student self-regulation, focus, emotional resilience, and positive decision-making.

“Inner Strength Education has equipped tens of thousands of Philadelphia youth with the tools to navigate stress, build emotional awareness, and cultivate resilience,” the resolution states. “Its programs have been a model of innovation and care, supporting both students and instructors across the District.”

Founder and Executive Director Amy Edelstein shares, “We are deeply honored by this recognition from the City Council. For ten years, our mission has been to help young people discover their inherent strength, wisdom, and capacity for growth. This citation affirms the importance of giving teens the tools they need to thrive—especially in times of uncertainty.”

The resolution further notes that research conducted with university partners—evaluating student outcomes in emotional regulation, perseverance, and stress awareness—has demonstrated significant and positive impact. An engrossed official copy of the resolution was presented to Inner Strength Education to commemorate the milestone.

As Inner Strength Education marks its tenth year, the organization is continuing to innovate in the field of youth mental wellness, including the development of new multi-lingual mindfulness resources, expanded instructor training pathways, and cutting-edge digital supports designed for teens.
