For me, my highest aspiration is to simply be the best I can be in order to obtain the success I desire. This entails every aspect of my life; being: personally, academically, mentally, and etc. As of now, my short term aspirations are to finish my high school career strongly upon graduating, including maintaining my grades (keeping my GPA strong) and testing for an additional diploma through the International Baccalaureate program. This will all be accomplished within the next 6 months, which is my primary focus right now.
I will “breathe” in the summer on vacation from schooling, being that I will attend university in the fall of 2016 (August). As of now I believe I will be attending University of Maryland Eastern Shore, with a major in Fashion Merchandising (within in a special major program). My aspiration there will also be to be the best I can be, maintain my grades, network with people, and find experience within my field of study. In that program I will have the opportunity to live in New York for a year which I am too excited about! From there…what’s next? I have no clue!
That’s the point I’m trying to make.
With the exposure to the Mindfulness Meditation class, individuals will have a chance to clear their mind in a calm and serene environment, giving them time to ponder on whatever it is they would like. This is very beneficial in that it helps to sort out dreams and aspirations, and the way in which one plans to achieve them. Several times during meditation, I have just sat back and removed myself from everything else and just thought. Whatever popped into my mind, I gave it some thought and moved on to the next thing.
Mindfulness Meditation has proven to be very effective as of now within the middle of my senior year of high school. I am less stressed and can better deal with daily problems and tough loads of school work. I also can reflect on things I normally would not because now I have a designated time to do so. In addition, Mindfulness Meditation is simply a pleasant experience being that I share it with my fellow classmates and after class, we are able to share our experiences with one another. Through sharing, we learn from and about one another, which is always beneficial.
Overall, Mindfulness Meditation has helped me and can be beneficial for others. Serving in decreasing stress, helping to deal with problems, and interacting with others.
