About 18 months ago, Amy embarked on an aspirational project – to build an innovative AI Coach that would deliver our program with sensitivity and fidelity, meet students where they are at, and embed all the most important (and often overlooked, note the recent judgments against Meta for practices that undermine student well being) safety guardrails.
It’s been quite a journey with a steep learning curve.
- How (and why) do you work with multiple discrete agents rather than one model?
- Who licenses texts if you want to train your AI on material beyond your own copyrights?
- When can you train your AI on recordings of your own teaching so it learns your style of encouragement, pause, challenge rather than just the content?
- And so so many more issues large and small.
It is an exciting endeavor and one that we hope and intend to make a significant contribution to the field. And we are one step closer to having our prototype ready for live beta-testing with students.
If this is your field, or you know someone in this field, we are actively looking for researchers who can help measure learning outcomes. Please feel free to share this short description with them or contact Amy.
